LOS ANGELESDec. 9, 2016PRLog — United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is excited to announce that Club El Azul has joined the league and will participate in the Pro Premier Division.

Club El Azul will begin play in UPSL’s Colorado Conference beginning with the 2017 Spring Season.

United Premier Soccer League Commissioner Yan Skwara said, “El Azul are an experienced club that’s proven to be winners wherever they’ve played. Their ownership is first-class, the Corrales-Cardona Family is first-class, and we couldn’t be more excited to have another family-owned team in the UPSL. The Denver area will benefit from that, and the Colorado Conference will benefit from that. We love having another team in Denver, and another team that’s going to
bring home-grown talent to their squad. They’re an excellent group, and we wish them well in 2017.”

Club El Azul is owned by the Corrales-Cardona Family. Founded in 2010, El Azul’s structure brings a lot to the table.

Patriarch Luis Corrales is the Head Coach, with eldest son, Luis Corrales-Cardona, and son-in-law, Jesus Morado, serving as his assistant coaches. Corrales’ youngest son, Nestor Corrales-Cardona, is the General Manager.

Club El Azul Assistant Coach and Team Spokesman Luis Corrales-Cardona said, “We like the way soccer brings everyone together, family and friends, so we decided to start our own club. We know the teams that are joining the Colorado Conference, and it’s a new challenge for our club. It’s great. The UPSL is all over and it’s growing, and we like the challenge. We like the competition and we’re excited for this new chapter for El Azul.”

The Family owns and operates Dream Windows Inc. of Denver, a local leader in new home and remodeling window installations with 15 years of doing business in Colorado. The company is a subcontractor for Denver-based Champion Windows, one of the industry’s highest-rated window manufacturers and retailers.

The Corrales-Cardona Family got into soccer first as sponsors for another Denver-area men’s open team before making the decision to create their own team along with friends and a number of Dream Windows Inc. employees.

Club El Azul has recent history of success, winning back-to-back Denver Soccer Liga championships in 2014-’15, while playing in both indoor and outdoor leagues since inception. The club also is a regular at the prestigious Las Vegas Silver Mug and Copa Allianza tournaments.

Started as an amateur team by Head Coach Luis Corrales, the Club El Azul has played in various leagues and tournaments throughout Colorado, and has an especially strong following in Denver’s soccer community.

Club El Azul are members of United States Adult Soccer Association sanctioned Soccer Liga in Denver, but are currently playing in the Foothills Arena League. The club also fields a reserve team.
