Norristown, PA — (SBWIRE) — 07/01/2019 — Elmwood Park Zoo, one of the leading locations for animal-themed birthday parties in the King of Prussia area, is offering Quiet Evening Hours on select Thursdays throughout the summer. This presents guests with special needs and their families the opportunity to enjoy a quiet and relaxed visit to the zoo after it has closed to the general public.
Quiet Evening Hours will take place on Thursday, July 25th and Thursday, August 29th. Elmwood Park Zoo will be open from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. for the event, and the last admission will take place at 7:30 p.m. There will be all sorts of friendly animals for families to meet, and the zoo’s staff will be available for questions and assistance.
Discounted non-member pricing is $10.95/person (personal care attendants and aides who are accompanying the guests may enter the zoo free of charge). Members are free, but must pre-register for this special entry. Since there are a limited amount of discounted tickets available, pre-registration is required.
In May 2018, Elmwood Park Zoo became the world’s first zoo to earn certification as a Certified Autism Center. Given by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES), is a designation that’s awarded to organizations that have completed a training and review process with the mission to serve individuals with autism and other sensory needs.
